In our Brazilian competition, English is GREAT: Speak to the World, we asked people to create a one-minute vlog explaining what English means to them.

One of the five final winners is Henrique Monteiro, who sang and performed in his video, adapting the Spice Girls song Wannabe to explain why he "really really" wanted to come to the UK. Henrique is being hosted by English UK North and will spend two weeks in February studying English at Melton College, in the historic city of York.

Follow his travels through our English is Great: Speak to the World on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram.

"Hello, my name is Henrique Monteiro and I live in Brasilia.

Since a very young age, I've been interested in everything related to art and thought my life would be like the show Glee! Breaking news: Girl, it is not!

I spent a lot of time trying to figure out a new direction in my career and in my life. I started making Youtube videos and then my friend told me about this competition because she knew learning English was one of my biggest dreams.

I worked hard on my entry but nothing could prepare me for the shock that I had when I received the email saying that I've won. I started shaking, crying and laughing at the same time. It was weird and I liked it.

This is a huge step in my life and might be the first one that I've accomplished for myself, so I couldn't be more excited to study abroad."

Our multi-strand GREAT campaign runs from September 2015 to April 2016. It aims to promote the UK as the premier destination to learn English to Brazilians. It includes travelling classrooms, two video competitions, a video wall of current and prospective Brazilian students sharing 'what English mean to me' and prominent English is GREAT pavilions at BMI Media's Salao do Estudante fairs.
