Oxford Rotary Club Fun Run
5 May 2010

The Oxford Rotary Club Fun Run will be held on the 8th of May this year – see www.oxfordfunrun.org.uk

Last year, with 300 or so runners/walkers, we raised £18,000.00 for local charities and this year the signs are that the run will be more popular than ever, especially as we have the pre-start attraction of 4 teams from RAF Falcon Display team arriving in the Parks by parachute! Everyone else may use the gates.

So please enter your teams early this year. We don’t need the actual names of the participants until the day of the race but we would very much like to have your entries in advance (£40.00 for a team of 4 payable to "Rotary Club of Oxford") if possible. Or enter as an individual or a family (see the Fun Run site for details).

Last year the individual winner was Juan from Viga in Spain who completed the 5k course in a record time of 18.25.

The Schools and Colleges Trophy was won by St Clare’s Running Club. Lake School of English won the Quality English Trophy. A very courageous Oxford English Centre team won the International Association of Language Centres’  Trophy. There are lots of other prizes for fancy dress, family teams, etc, and a free BBQ afterwards at Oxford English Centre.

Please pass this info on to your social organiser (to recruit the teams and contact me) and to your Principal or Director (to send the entry fees!).

When you have your team, please email info@oxfordfunrun.org.uk.

If your school or college is outside Oxford why not make a day of it – run and BBQ in the morning then sightseeing in the afternoon?

Any questions welcome. See www.oxfordfunrun.org.uk for more details.
