Celebrate the royal wedding

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are getting married, so language students will be able to join some very British celebrations on 19th May.

Royal weddings are always a great chance for Brits to meet their neighbours and share tea and cake. Public screenings and street parties will be held around the country.

Finding an event

Places to watch the screening include Cambridge's Market Square, Swansea's Castle Square, Exeter Food Festival and Festival Square in Edinburgh. See The Telegraph's map of public events. Other venues will offer tickets for afternoon tea and a chance to watch the event with a glass of champagne.

Some English centres will be holding their own parties. Kingsway English Centre are inviting students to watch the wedding on their big screen, accompanied by a buffet lunch, cake and champagne.

St George International are running a special social programme for the week of the wedding, including a Royal Gardens of London walk, and trips to the Tower of London and three different palaces: Buckingham, Kensington and Hampton Court.

We hope international students enjoy these "very British" celebrations.
