Description of centre

We are an independent college offering a range of professionally delivered educational and training programmes for local and international students. The college is based in the heart of Birmingham City centre in the prestigious Birmingham Midlands Institute, which has been the soul of this city’s educational and cultural life for nearly 150 years. One of its early Presidents was the world famous novelist, Charles Dickens. To see a tour of the campus, please visit this link: http://www.bcol.co.uk/campus_tour

The college is only a two-minute walk from Birmingham New Street rail station, coach station, and main shopping areas but is located in a quiet area beside the Museum & Art Gallery and Town Hall.

We offer general English language courses in groups of an average size of 7 (maximum 15) and provide one-to-one teaching to students and professionals. Our IELTS preparation programme is unique in the city and can cater for learners ranging from doctors, undergraduate and postgraduate students seeking to join university degree programmes. Also being an approved UCAS Centre, we offer university application services which many of the students benefit from.

In addition to British Council accredited English language programmes, we run bespoke professional training for overseas groups (including teachers, head teachers, education managers, doctors, government officials and industry leaders) and UK Academic & Cultural Exploration Camps for Young Learners.
