Description of centre

A small, friendly, independent school, BEST in Bath is located on Queen Square, in the heart of the beautiful city of Bath. The school is owned and managed by people who live in Bath, and love living here.

The school has an academic management team of many years’ experience. School Principal, Mark Appleton, has been teaching English since 1984, and running courses in the city since 1996. We emphasise high-quality teaching, individual attention and student care and aim to make sure that lessons are challenging, lively and enjoyable, and that the social programme is active, varied and fun.

Accommodation options include homestay in a local family, which is the most popular as it offers the chance to experience life in an English home, as well as the chance to practise your English more. Hotels, guest houses, hostels and self-catering options are also available.

BEST in Bath offers courses for adults and teenagers. Our adult courses are intensive general English courses, with the option of 15 or 22.5 hours per week. Options for focused study, such as exam preparation, are available as afternoon choices. One-to-one lessons are also available. Students can start on any Monday.

Our summer school for teenagers offers fifteen hours tuition per week, daily activities, two evening activities and a full-day excursion each week. We also have a lot of experience dealing with school groups at other times of the year, when we can offer bespoke programmes.
