Bede’s Summer School, part of St Bede’s School Trust, has been running high-quality residential programmes since 1993. Today, Bede’s offers 10 different types of programs at 6 locations.
English Courses
Bede's Summer School courses, for students aged from 6 to 20 years, runs in 6 centres (Eastbourne, Windlesham, Dicker, Lancing, Royal Holloway and Brighton)
In the morning, students typically have English Lessons with 17.5 to 25 hours of English per week in groups of 10- 14 students maximum per class. In the afternoon there are sports, art, drama and clubs with a full programme of entertainment in the evening and 2 excursions / 1 trip per week.
Sports Academies are available in Adventure Sports, Animal Management, Ballet, Basketball, Commercial Pop Dance, Fashion Design, Film and Animation, Flying, Football, Golf, Horse Riding, Masterchef, Performing Arts, Photography, Swimming and Tennis Academic Academies are available for students at Dicker and Lancing: Creative Writing, Critical Thinking, Debating, Economics, English literature, Essay Writing, International Relations, Management, Maths, Presenting, Problem-Solving and Science. Students accommodation is on campus.
We offer a Day option and Parent Course at Eastbourne (6-11).
At Bede's, Cambridge exams, PET, FCE & CAE, the Trinity College Graded Exam in Spoken English (GESE) and IELTS preparation and exam courses are available (centre dependant).
Dance and English
This course is for 12 to 17 year olds and takes place at Bede's Dicker. Students have 12.5 hours of English tuition and 17 hours of Dance tuition per week. This is an exclusive 2 week course. Previous ballet experience in essential.
Pathways to Higher Education
This programme is for 16 to 20 year olds and takes place at Sussex University Brighton. There are 25 hours of lessons per week including English Skills, Skills for Higher Education and Academic Pathways.
IELTS preparation and exam course available. There are optional evening and weekend social events, sports and trips in which students are encouraged to participate.
