Description of centre

North East Scotland College (NESCol)
North East Scotland College is one of Scotland’s largest regional colleges, serving thousands of students across Aberdeen City and Shire. With main campuses in Aberdeen (City, Altens, and Clinterty) and additional sites in Fraserburgh, Ellon, and Inverurie, NESCol plays a key role in delivering education and skills training across the region.

Aberdeen City Campus
Located in the heart of Aberdeen, the City Campus is a vibrant, modern learning environment. It features a wide range of specialist facilities and flexible spaces that support both study and social connection. With excellent transport links and proximity to the city’s cultural and commercial centres, it offers an ideal base for students to learn and thrive.

ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages)
NESCol provides a welcoming and supportive setting for learners looking to improve their English language skills. The College delivers English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) programmes at various levels, helping learners gain confidence in communication, integrate into local communities, and access further education or employment opportunities. Courses are delivered in small groups by experienced tutors who foster inclusive and engaging learning.

A highlight of NESCol’s ESOL provision is the Summer English & Culture Programme, which combines English language learning with an introduction to local heritage, activities, and places of interest across Aberdeen and the northeast. This seasonal offer is ideal for international learners or newcomers looking to build both language skills and cultural connections in a short, immersive format.

ETZ Skills Hub
Opening in 2025, the new Energy Transition Skills Hub—based near the Altens Campus—will provide specialist training to support the region’s net zero ambitions. Delivered in partnership with industry, the Hub will offer flexible learning opportunities in areas such as renewables, engineering, and emerging green technologies. It will serve as a centre for innovation and inclusive access to future-focused careers.
