International Colleagues School of English known as ICS English, is a small, friendly English language school with excellent standards and a good international mix of students, which has been located here in the centre of Norwich for nearly 46 years.
As a former student of the school, I kept the ethos and the family-oriented approach.
Our classes are generally small, as we like to focus on quality and not quantity.

We have a 'Mystery person' brought into the class for the students to ask questions or do activities with them. We have had a judge, a Science teacher, an Art teacher, a Biology teacher and a BBC newsreader, coming to speak to our students and giving them a challenge or two. It is great fun for the students as they have to guess what they do and then get on with tasks given to them by the new 'Mystery person'.

We have created a small 'buddy' system. We have a group of English people who come to pick the students up after classes at 1pm and stay with them for 2 hours 2/3 times a week to speak English and taking them around places in Norwich; our 'buddies' sit with the students, interact with them, help them with their pronunciation when asked, and they are fun to be around. Each 'buddy' is chosen before a student arrives in Norwich and paired with the right person/group. We have a 'buddy' for every 3 to 4 students, breaking the groups in smaller ones, so that everyone has a chance to interact and speak.
