Accreditation UK: what it is and how we can help you achieve it
English UK works in partnership with the British Council to deliver Accreditation UK, one of the leading quality assurance schemes for English language teaching providers in the UK.
Accreditation demonstrates that a provider meets professional standards across areas including management, teaching, learning resources, premises, student welfare and safeguarding for under-18s.
For centres seeking Accreditation UK accreditation, we offer a dedicated consultancy service providing advice, guidance and practical support throughout the accreditation process. Whether you are preparing for your first inspection, looking to strengthen existing processes or looking to move to Accreditation UK from another form of accreditation, our consultants can help you understand the requirements and identify areas for improvement.
The scheme's requirements are among the most rigorous in the world. It is also one of the Home Office-approved inspection bodies for providers that teach students through the short-term student visa route for English language courses lasting of up to 11 months.

Achieving Accreditation UK accreditation: how we can help
English UK offers an independent consultancy service to advise English language providers on managing the accreditation process successfully and achieving the best possible outcome. Our Accreditation Consultancy Service (ACS) is for new and established providers teaching English as a foreign language.
Huan Japes, English UK's membership director, manages the team of accreditation consultants. Our consultants have a wealth of knowledge and experience in all types of ELT provision and will help you prioritise when preparing for inspection.
There are three types of consultancy to choose from:
1. Document review – a thorough review of inspection documentation, policies, publicity materials and staff qualifications, followed by a written report
2. One-day consultancy visit – an on-site visit followed by a written report with practical feedback and recommendations
3. Full consultancy package – combines the document review with the one-day consultancy visit for more comprehensive support
In addition, English UK can provide a bespoke service to meet your centre's specific needs. For example, the consultant can work with you to produce and edit the required documentation. Please contact us for further information and costs.

Note: The Accreditation UK scheme is not valid for centres wishing to sponsor students under the Student Visa route. To apply for student sponsor licence, ELT providers must be inspected by an educational oversight body such as the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI).
