In February Guilherme Augusto de Oliveira, one of our English is GREAT: Speak to the World video competition winners, will travel to Northern Ireland.

Hosted by English UK Northern Ireland, he'll spend two weeks studying English in Belfast and Derry with North West Academy, International House Belfast and Belfast Metropolitan College.

In his short film, set in 2030, he told us the "incredible story" of how he learned English.

"Hi, my name is Guilherme Augusto de Oliveira and I'm from São Paulo. I joined this competition because it's my dream to study English abroad.

My main job is as a photographer; I graduated in Audiovisual in 2013, and worked for almost 3 years at a TV station. Then, my English teacher invited me to start giving classes at his school.

It was a big challenge because I had never imagined me as a teacher, but, challenges are there to be overcome, right? That made me a more confident, social and outgoing person, who likes to meet new places and people.

Winning was one of the most important events in my life. I'll finally be able to make one of my dreams come true, in one of the most beautiful places on earth. I went from a kid who never wanted to go to English classes to a person who's now very excited to study in Northern Ireland. This will definitely be the most amazing experience I'll ever have!"

Follow Guilherme on his travels through our English is Great: Speak to the World social media channels on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram.

English is GREAT is a multi-strand campaign that we are running in Brazil to promote studying English in the UK. For this competition, the entrants were asked to create a one-minute vlog explaining, in English, what English means to them. We received thousands of entries and the judges were very impressed by the quality. The top five won a fully funded two-week scholarship to study English in the UK.

Don't forget to follow our five winners on Facebook and Instagram to discover more about how they find studying, and living, in the UK. We will let you know when they each travel.
