A deal in the first meeting

m2r Education's Munir Mamujee was also delighted, signing a deal during his first meeting of the day"It's potentially very big contract and the first time digital courses and blended materials have been offered at this level. The opportunities will really help us in Iraq and Kurdistan..." His new partner, Kamal Draey of Britannia Educational Services and consultancy agreed. "I am very happy to work with MunirThat's what I like about StudyWorldbringing together professionals from around the world."

Quality agents

StudyWorld agents are carefully screened to ensure they are the right fit for educators. Educator schedules this year reached an impressive 95% capacity. There was strong engagement across the event with agents arriving prepared and committed to attending meetings. Justin Quinn of the Centre of English Studies team commented: "It's going very well. There is a nice vibe and really good quality agents are here."

Back to Brighton

Brighton was the home of StudyWorld's predecessor event until 2006 before it moved to LondonCharles Harrison, an honorary member of English UK, was a regular during those days. He said: "What I think is astonishing is that this has been going on so long and has kept on going in the face of continued competition – it's fantastic."

Partying with sharks

As usual, the event had two networking events as well as two full days of meetings. Elac Study Vacations sponsored the welcome reception to celebrate their 35th anniversary, while MLA hosted a networking reception at the world's oldest aquarium, where delegates chatted, danced, and admired giant turtles and sharks.

UK world's top study destination

Seminars during the first afternoon provided valuable industry insights. Ivana Bartosik of English UK's intelligence partner BONARD said the UK was doing well for a mature market and said there were opportunities for the industry. "There is a legacy that the UK can continue to build on," she said. Anna Harris of VisitBritain also had encouraging news about the influential Anholt Nation Brands Index. "I am really excited to mention that for the first time since 2008 the UK is in first place as the destination for study after years of consistently being second," she said, adding that the challenge was now to capitalise on this to make it a permanent advantage.

Excitement about StudyWorld on tour

StudyWorld first went on the road to Manchester last January, getting excellent feedback from agents and educators alike. Andrew Hjort of Melton College in York said that moving the event around is good as "One of the positives of the event now is people are hoping to see new destinations."

There was a real buzz around this year's announcement that in 2027 StudyWorld will travel to Scotland for the first time. Sarah Beesley of BEET was one of many happy educators and agents. "It's hugely exciting to go to Glasgow and I love that StudyWorld is on tour, and it's such a great opportunity for schools and agents. We are all very excited about it. I am loving it in Brighton. The venue is great and we haven't been here for 20 years. I love that it's going back to its roots and also thinking about different destinations."

Tim Cooke of Elac Study Vacations said the concept of moving the event was very positive. "There are [English UK] members in different placesIt's nice for Scottish members to have that representation, and the same for other regions of the UK. It is good for everybody and enables people to showcase other locations."

Eager anticipation for Scotland

Scottish educators are looking forward to 2027. "It's a really good chance and opportunity to showcase not just Glasgow but Scotland," said Ricky Kemp, adding: "I am hoping to raise awareness of Scotland as a destinationThere are so many international students, and we want agents to add us to their portfolio with confidence.Edinburgh College's Harriet Petty agreed, saying: "I think it's a good opportunity to get people across after the event and show them something of Scotland."
