Support underway for BSC Education students following closure
English UK is now coordinating support for students affected by the closure of BSC Education's five UK schools.
Support for affected students
We understand that 170 students currently in the UK need support, with a further 165 due to arrive in the coming weeks. We are prioritising students already in the UK and those due to arrive shortly.
We are communicating directly with affected students and their agents about the support available and next steps. We are also working with English UK member centres to identify suitable replacement courses.
Our priority is to help affected students continue their studies with as little disruption as possible.
Meet the English UK team online
Affected BSC Education students have been invited to join the English UK team online from 11:00 to 12:00 (UK time) on Friday 9 October, where they can ask questions about their situation and the support available.
Reviewing student protection
We are also urgently reviewing how we can strengthen student protection in the future. Our focus is on what more can be done to protect students and provide support when a centre closes unexpectedly.
