Erasmus+ funding for UK placements is secure for 2020

We want to reassure agencies and students that Erasmus+ funding for UK placements is secure for 2020. English UK members look forward to continuing to host funded language teachers for professional development programmes this year.

What is the Erasmus+ funding situation for 2020?

On 31 January 2020 the UK formally left the European Union. We are now in a transition period until 31 December 2020. During this period, the future relationship between the UK and European Union will be decided.

In this transition year, the UK can still welcome language teachers for Erasmus+ funded development programmes. We will be campaigning for the UK to remain part of KA1 mobility programmes for teachers, both as a sending and a receiving country after 2020.

What can agencies do if students have problems accessing Erasmus+ funding for UK programmes?

  • If you are in contact with your country's Erasmus+ national funding agency, please share this message to remind them that the UK is still an option for 2020 Erasmus+ programmes.
  • If your contacts at the national funding agency have any further questions, please ask them to contact Huan Japes, English UK's membership director.
  • If your clients have experienced problems with accessing funding to come to the UK please let Huan know. If you do not usually receive emails from English UK, and you would like us to keep you updated on Erasmus+ funding, sign up to our agent mailing list.
