University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations would like to invite you to a seminar, lunch and drinks reception for professionals responsible for the admission of international undergraduate and postgraduate students into UK Higher Education. Come and join us and other colleagues in Higher Education to discuss what your institutions need from English language exams and how we can support you in providing reliable proof of language competency for student admissions.

Join us for a programme of topical presentations and discussions which include:

International Students: current issues for undergraduate recruitment

To set the scene for the day, this presentation will include an overview of the trends, current issues and forthcoming challenges that institutions face in recruiting international students to the UK.

Exams you can trust: quality and reliability in English language testing

Angela French, Examinations Manager, Cambridge ESOL
Providing English language exams since 1913, Cambridge ESOL boasts a wealth of experience in producing high quality examinations and a commitment to excellence. This session will cover the background to Cambridge ESOL's exams and how they provide an accurate and reliable measure of test takers' true language abilities for Higher Education admission purposes.

Getting it right: the importance of English language for Higher Education study

What are the benefits of recruiting students with the right language abilities to follow studies in the English medium? What is the real impact on both the student and the institution of getting this wrong? An opportunity to listen to and share experiences.

Up to standard: practical language skills for international student admissions

Jacky Newbrook, ESOL teacher, item writer and examiner
The presenter will demonstrate how the skills developed and assessed by Cambridge ESOL exams prepare students for Higher Education study. This interactive session will draw on examples of candidates' performance across the four skills of Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking.

Helping you recruit students with the right level of English

Cambridge ESOL is committed to supporting your institution with the recruitment of international students. This session is dedicated to listening to your views and sharing ideas about how Cambridge ESOL can help you meet your English language requirements.

The seminar and the drinks reception at the end of the day will give you the opportunity to network and share your experiences and views with Cambridge ESOL and other Higher Education professionals.
