International House Belfast to close after nineteen years
We are sorry to confirm that International House Belfast (IH Belfast) has closed at the end of August 2026.
Students able to complete their courses
All students were able to complete their courses, and there was no need to activate the English UK Student Emergency Support Scheme.
Huan Japes, Membership Director at English UK, said:
'We are very sorry to see International House Belfast close. Throughout the closure process, owner Jonathan Dykes has shown great care and professionalism. Remaining students were able to complete their courses, applicants for future courses were informed in good time, and staffing levels were reduced gradually. We are grateful for the responsible way in which the closure has been managed.'
Students wishing to study English in Belfast can continue to do so at Belfast Met, an English UK member centre.

We recognise that the closure marks the end of an important chapter for staff, students and partners, and we wish everyone involved the very best for the future.
