This workshop aims to share good practice and give the most up-to-date information on all aspects of managing accommodation – homestay and residential. The emphasis will be on how the provision can gain 'strengths' in a British Council inspection.

Outcomes

Participants will discuss how they can:

  • Find and assess suitable accommodation
  • Monitor and maintain accommodation
  • Fulfil their duty of care to all students – adults and under-18s

About the trainer

Dr Diane Phillips has worked as a teacher, teacher trainer, and manager of adult and young learner courses.

She is currently a lecturer for the Open University, teaching on the MA in Education programme and is the author of a wide range of in-house and published materials.

She has been a British Council inspector since 2000 and is also a tutor on the English UK Certificate in Student Services.

Key information

This training event is a full day workshop running from 10:30 to 17:00. Participants will receive a certificate from the trainer at the end of the session.
