Everything you need to ensure happy homestay hosts and safe students

Managing homestay accommodation is both an art and a science. Recruiting and keeping hosts is vital, as is matching them with the right students and ensuring safeguarding requirements are met.

At a time when inspection criteria and homestay supply have become more challenging, it's more important than ever for accommodation managers to be confident they are recruiting hosts safely and retaining them effectively.

For new and experienced staff

English UK's latest training session – managing and recruiting homestay accommodation - will support both new and experienced staff through inspection requirements and practical techniques for recruitment and retention.

Supporting a unique role

Eleanor Thomas, events and training manager, said: "Managing homestay accommodation is a unique job with a very particular skillset and our trainers will cover the inspection and safeguarding aspects as well as recruitment, management and everyday issues in detail. We regularly get requests for this, so we're really pleased to be running this session – it will be the first time since before the pandemic.

"We think this is going to be a popular addition to our training timetable."

Who and when?

Trainers are Barbara Lewin, who has extensive experience in managing ELT centres and Accreditation UK inspector Glen Mitchell.

The course runs online on Wednesday 5 November.
