The UK Border Agency and English UK will be holding a briefing seminar for the benefit of educational agents in Turkey. The briefing will be held on Thursday 26 March at the Nippon Hotel, Taksim Square, Istanbul (www.nipponhotel.com.tr) from 10:00-13:00. Refreshments and a buffet lunch will be provided.

During the seminar you will hear from Hazel Duddy from the UK Border Agency in London, who will give an overview of changes to the UK's visa system for students. A representative from the British Embassy in Ankara will focus on local visa processes and requirements. Mark Rendell, Deputy Chief Executive of English UK, will talk about English UK, its views on the new points-based visa system and what agents need to know. Lastly, Tom Whittaker, Marketing and Communications Co-coordinator with the Accreditation Unit at the British Council, will give an outline of the accreditation process for English language teaching centres in the UK, how it works and how it's affected by the new visa system.

From 14:00-17:00, we will hold a workshop session (one-to-one appointments), giving you the opportunity to meet with English UK member centres. There will be around 6 educators attending, and you will be able to sign-up for appointments during the morning and lunch-time breaks.

Attendance is free of charge.

If you would like to attend the visa briefing seminar and student recruitment workshop, please email me (jodie@englishuk.com) to confirm your attendance by Wednesday 18 March at the latest (places are limited).
