Special resolution to adopt the revised Articles of Association

As part of our ongoing governance review, the Board will propose a special resolution to the members at the AGM to adopt the revised Articles of Association. We encourage members to read about this special resolution, the background to the governance review and the revised Articles of Association.

We are very grateful to the members of our Governance Review Task & Finish Group under the leadership of its chair, Timothy Blake (The London School of English), for their enormous contribution.

Conference motions

Immediately following the AGM, there will a closed session to allow for debate of any conference motions. Conference motions are a way for a member to put forward a matter of policy or any issue of concern they would like to see debated by the wider membership. Although these motions are not binding, they can help convey to the board and the executive team the views of members.

Any proposed motion should be sent in writing to the chief executive. To allow adequate time for debate, we encourage you to submit these by Wednesday 18 May. Whilst motions may be presented at short notice i.e. on the day, they must be presented at least two hours before the start of the conference (08:00 on Friday 20 May) and only very limited time may be available for their debate.
