Safeguarding Adults: specialist ELT training

Safeguarding in the UK doesn't only apply to children, but also to adults. Make sure your centre is well equipped to look after all your students with specialist training created for English language teaching centres.

How does safeguarding adults differ from safeguarding under 18s? Is there such a thing as a vulnerable adult? Aren't all of our students vulnerable? This session looks at the legislation and principles of adult safeguarding within the context of ELT. It will give welfare and safeguarding staff the confidence and knowledge to support and protect adult students.

  • Legislation and guidance
  • Principles of adult safeguarding
  • Mental health and mental capacity
  • Primary and secondary forms of abuse
