    UK airports have reopened from 22:00, Tuesday 20 April. The UK Border Agency is making every effort to minimise any delays but it will take time for the situation for their visa operation to return to normal in some areas.

    Following a meeting of the Tourism Industry Emergency Response Group on 20 April to discuss the impact of the Icelandic volcanic activity on the UK tourism industry, a questionnaire has been compiled by VisitBritain to help determine the scale of impact and implications of the travel restrictions on the visitor economy to date.

    The Association of Professional Tourist Guides (APTG), which is soon to be re-branded as ‘Guide London’, represents Blue Badge Tourist Guides working in the London area, and including day trips from London. They are currently looking at ways in which they can offer their professional services to accredited language schools which are either based in the London area or which bring students into London.
