With the current demanding economic situation, the final round of PMI2 funding, and government changes, colleges are working in a demanding, uncertain and testing environment. This conference will look at challenges and opportunities facing colleges' international provision and how the sector can work together to meet them.  

The annual Lexiophiles Top Language Blog Competition aims to find the top 100 Language Blogs. With 495 nominated blogs and more than 20,000 user votes, the competition broke last year's record, making it probably the largest competition in its field.

BBC1’s The Politics Show featured a story on how the B1 language requirement is going to affect the profitable international student industry. The programme visited Anglo-Continental in Bournemouth, interviewing Director Guido Schillig, and also the town’s new MP, Conor Burns.

The UK government has introduced new legislation that makes it mandatory for all non-EU passport holders to have a certain level of English if they wish to come to the country to study the language.
