The English UK office will be closed from 2pm GMT today as we attend a memorial service to celebrate the life of our late Chief Executive Eddie Byers with staff, colleagues, friends and family.

In February Guilherme Augusto de Oliveira, one of our English is GREAT: Speak to the World video competition winners, will travel to Northern Ireland.

Hosted by English UK Northern Ireland he'll spend  two weeks studying English there with International House Belfast, Belfast Metropolitan College and North West Academy.

English UK has appointed a senior industry figure as interim chief executive until a permanent replacement is found for Eddie Byers, who died in November.

Over the next few weeks, we will profile the five winners of our English is GREAT: Speak to the World video competition. The prizes are  a fully-funded two week scholarship to the UK.
