  • Issue regarding an ABLS accredited centre

    A member centre has contacted us and the Accreditation Unit over an issue which has arisen. They have been approached by a non-member centre which is accredited by ABLS asking them to test their students at the end of the course and issue them with certificates from an Accreditation UK-accredited centre. 

    We would advise members that if they are approached, they should have nothing to do with any such arrangement and should complain to ABLS with a copy to UKBA.

  • Oxford Rotary Club Fun Run - English UK Trophy

    The Oxford Rotary Club Fun Run was held on the 8th of May this year.

    For the first time, English UK sponsored a trophy for the fastest runner from an English UK member school, which was won by Mr Arent Van Horick, aged 19, from The Netherlands. 

    Mr Van Horick is currently studying at EF Oxford, and was sixth overall in the race behind some very speedy parachutists from RAF Falcon, in a time for 5K of 19.05.

    By law, Immigration officers are required to have due regard to the safeguard and welfare of all children and young people. For all under 18s, officers are therefore required to check the documentation presented and ensure that arrangements have been made to meet the passenger.

    The Oxford Rotary Club Fun Run will be held on the 8th of May this year. Last year, with approximately 300 runners/walkers, the Fun Run raised £18,000 for local charities. This year looks like being even more popular!
