    Mark Rendell and Shoko Doherty have been voted the new chair and vice-chair of the English UK Board of Trustees. Both are active members of the ELT industry, running schools in England and Wales. They play a major role in representing the sector both locally and nationally, and believe their experience will be invaluable in helping the industry tackle the challenge of rebuilding after Covid-19 and the withdrawal of EU freedom of movement.

  • English UK's response to the first traffic light list update for international travel
    4 June 2021

    Once again we are hugely disappointed that the government's first review of its traffic-light system not only sees no new countries added to its green list but also contains no indication of when and how countries might be moved to green in future. This is in contrast to the announcement from the Irish government today that arrivals from the EU and elsewhere with a vaccine certificate or a negative Covid-19 test will be welcome there from 19 July without quarantine and other restrictions.
