A range of major issues, including fulfilling the government's Prevent requirements and the changing nature of UK ELT as an industry, as well as English UK's strategic plan, public affairs work and major international campaigns, were discussed at the English UK Member Roadshow Scotland, held at the Edinburgh Language centre.

Shakespeare Lives is an unprecedented programme of events and activities running throughout 2016 to celebrate William Shakespeare's work. Under this Shakespeare Lives initiative, we are working with the British Council China to run 'Play your Shakespeare', a digital mass participation project.

Almost a third of participants at English UK's latest member roadshow, in Oxford, were from public sector universities and FE colleges.

In our Brazilian English is GREAT: Speak to the World competition, the entrants were asked to create a one-minute video blog (vlog) explaining, what English means to them. One of the final winner Henrique Monteiro sang and performed in his video, adapting the Spice Girls song Wannabe to explain why he "really really" wanted to come to the UK.

Henrique is being hosted by English UK North and will spend two weeks in February studying English at Melton College, in the historic city of York.
