    This pre-conference event will be held on Wednesday 7th April and has been organized by the IATEFL ESP SIG. The aim of the event is to provide a cutting-edge international survey on the current trends and issues in EAP as a key sub-area of ESP (English for Specific Purposes).   • Raise the Roof Campaign - Your Support Needed

    Raise the Roof is a campaign to get a fair deal from the Treasury for people who choose to rent out a room in their home. Since 1997 (i.e. under the current government) no change has been made to the income threshold of the Rent a Room Scheme - the threshold at present is £4,250 a year; the campaign would like to see this rise to £9,000 a year.

    The University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations is offering two scholarship packages for teachers to attend the IATEFL Harrogate Conference.

    These two scholarships are to celebrate best practice in the areas of examinations and teacher training. The scholarships are open to teachers working in these fields and not just those with formal qualifications or roles.
