English UK are pleased to announce that bookings are being taken for the ELT Teachers' Conference 2012, held on Saturday 10 November at Prospero House, London.

English UK welcomes the recommendation by a committee of MPs that the Government should exclude students from its net migration target, with the Home Affairs Committee saying that it is important that the UK does not fall behind its international competitors by becoming a less attractive option for international students.

English UK is delighted to welcome its newest regional group, English UK East. The group was formed in summer 2012 and has around 20 members so far.

Plans to create a professional association for language teachers have been outlined by English UK. The organisation would be closely tied in to teachers' continuing professional development, providing a framework for progress.
