English Profile is a groundbreaking collaborative research project that is working to provide a detailed set of Reference Level Descriptions for English. Teachers and others involved in the teaching of high level learners are invited to provide feedback on draft "Can Do" statements for C level learners on the English Profile website - www.englishprofile.org.

The British Council invites proposals for the second ELT Research Partnership Scheme. Through this scheme we aim to promote partnerships between UK and overseas academic institutions, and to encourage and facilitate research that will impact on ELT practice around the world.

The British Council is undertaking its 2010 "International Student Safety Questionnaire".

The survey looks at student experiences and safety issues in the United Kingdom, and the deadline for completion is Friday 2 April 2010.

This pre-conference event will be held on Wednesday 7^th April and has been organized by the IATEFL ESP SIG. The aim of the event is to provide a cutting-edge international survey on the current trends and issues in EAP as a key sub-area of ESP (English for Specific Purposes). The Pre-Conference Event will focus on the most pertinent trends and issues that are now dominating the EAP scene internationally and key themes will be brought to prominence by a very diverse range of expert EAP keynote speakers representing all the continents.
